Combining photos or scanned pages into one PDF can make a document easier to share and review. It does not automatically make the file smaller, protect its contents with a password or turn photographed text into searchable text. Check the result before sending it.

When a PDF is useful

A single file can be easier to attach, print and review than a set of separate images. The page order is visible in one document, but file size and appearance depend on the images and the PDF reader. A PDF is not encrypted or digitally signed just because it contains images.

Convert images with ConverteArq

  • Open the image-to-PDF tool. The tool is currently in Portuguese.
  • Select one or more images. Each selected image becomes a page in the list.
  • Check the order shown on screen. Drag an item or use its up and down controls to move it.
  • Choose portrait, landscape or automatic orientation, then set a margin from 0 to 50 mm. There is no separate Letter-page setting.
  • Select “Convert to PDF” and download the file when the browser finishes.
  • Open the PDF and check the page count, order, margins and cropped edges before sharing it.

What the tool does and what it does not do

The conversion code reads the selected image files in the browser and passes their image data to the PDF library. The tool code does not upload those selected files to the server. The page still loads site resources and other scripts, so this is not a promise that the entire site makes no network requests.

Each image becomes a page. The tool does not run OCR: text in a photo remains part of the image and cannot be selected or searched in the PDF. It also does not automatically correct a blurry photo or guarantee a fixed page size.

Keep the images readable

  • Start with the original image at its full resolution. Enlarging a small image cannot restore missing detail.
  • Review small print, numbers, stamps and the edges of each page at the size the recipient will use.
  • If you plan to print the PDF, print a test page and check that the margins and content fit.
  • If an image does not load or the conversion fails, keep the original and try fewer files or a JPG/PNG copy. Browser memory and image format can affect the result.

Page size, orientation and file size

The controls provide portrait, landscape or automatic orientation and a margin. The output page dimensions are derived from the image proportions using A4 point dimensions; they are not a guaranteed standard A4 or US Letter page. If a recipient requires exact dimensions, inspect the generated PDF before sending it.

The combined PDF can be larger than the source images. To reduce file size, make a smaller copy of the source images and create a new PDF, or use a compressor after reviewing its privacy and quality trade-offs. The ConverteArq PDF compressor temporarily sends the PDF to the server.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert several images into one PDF?

Yes. Each selected image becomes a page. Check the displayed order and move pages before converting if needed.

Can the PDF text be selected or searched?

Not when the pages are only images. Optical character recognition (OCR) is needed to extract text, and this tool does not perform OCR.

Does the tool send my selected images to a server?

The conversion code reads the chosen images in your browser and does not upload them to the server. The page still loads site resources and other scripts.

Does the tool always create an A4 or Letter page?

No. It offers orientation and margin controls, and derives page dimensions from the image proportions using A4 point dimensions. Check the output if exact dimensions matter.

Why did the PDF become larger than the images?

The PDF library may encode or package image data differently. This tool does not promise compression; compare the result and keep the originals.

Can I convert a large image set?

There is no single guaranteed maximum that works on every device. The browser’s available memory and image formats affect performance. If it fails, try fewer files or smaller copies.
