CSV structure validator
Check quotation marks, the selected delimiter, row lengths and column consistency without uploading your CSV.
Enter CSV text to see the result.
How to validate a CSV
- Paste the CSV text.
- Choose the delimiter used by the file: comma, semicolon or tab.
- Review the row and column counts or the error identifying a problem row.
Example
The header name, age followed by Ana,30 contains two columns in each row. A row with an extra field is reported as inconsistent.
Limits and what this check does not cover
- The input accepts up to one million characters and 20,000 rows.
- The validator checks quoting, the delimiter and consistent field counts; it does not validate data types or business rules.
- Line breaks inside a quoted field are treated as field content, not as a new record.
Processing and privacy
The CSV is processed in this browser and is not sent to the server. Site code and fonts are loaded over the normal connection to ConverteArq. Close or reload the page to discard the result.
Frequently asked questions
Which delimiters can I select?
Comma, semicolon or tab. Select the separator that the file actually uses.
Does a valid result mean every value is correct?
No. It checks CSV structure and consistent row width, not the meaning or type of each value.
Can a quoted field contain a line break?
Yes. A line break inside a properly quoted field belongs to that field rather than starting another record.
