Tip calculator and bill splitter
Enter the bill amount, a tip percentage and the number of people sharing it. The calculator shows the tip, total and equal share. Use the same currency unit as the bill; no exchange rate or customary tip is assumed.
Calculate tip and split
How the calculation works
Tip = bill amount × percentage ÷ 100. The total is the bill plus the tip. For a bill of 120 and a 10% tip, the tip is 12 and the total is 132.
Sharing equally
The calculator divides the total including tip by the number of people. If people ordered different amounts, agree on a different split before relying on the equal-share result.
Check whether service is already included
Review the bill before adding a tip. If you enter an amount that already includes a service charge, use 0% to split that total. Otherwise enter the amount before service and the percentage you choose. Adding the same charge twice overstates the total.
Rounding to two decimal places
Each displayed amount is rounded to two decimal places. Dividing 100 equally among three people displays 33.33 per person, which adds up to 99.99; agree who covers the remaining cent. Tip customs and rules vary by location and venue. This calculator does not set a required rate or recommend an amount.

Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a bill that already includes a service charge?
Yes. Enter the total and set the tip percentage to zero if you only want to split that amount. Do not add the same service charge a second time.
How does the equal split work?
The calculator adds the tip to the bill and divides the result by the number of people. It does not adjust for different orders or decide what each person has agreed to pay.
Does the calculator recommend a tip?
No. Tip expectations and rules vary by location and venue. Enter the percentage you choose or that applies to your situation.
