Time zone converter by city and date

Choose a date, a time and a reference city. The tool compares the same instant in other cities using time-zone identifiers and the seasonal rules available in your browser.

Why choose a city and date

A place may switch between standard and daylight time. Providing a region and date lets the browser apply the rules associated with that zone instead of always adding a fixed UTC offset.

Results depend on time-zone data installed in the browser and operating system. If an authority has recently changed a rule, those data may not yet include it. For meetings, confirm the time in each participant’s calendar invitation.

Brazil’s time zones

Brazilian Legal Time uses four UTC offsets: UTC−2 in Fernando de Noronha, UTC−3 across much of the country, UTC−4 in parts of the Center-West and North, and UTC−5 in Acre. The Brazilian National Observatory lists the locations covered by each zone.

The tool lists reference cities; it does not determine the zone for every nearby municipality or territory. Check the exact location when precision matters.

Clock changes and repeated times

When clocks move forward, some local times do not exist. When clocks move back, a local time may occur twice. The tool warns about gaps and repeats and shows the earlier occurrence when a time repeats.

For important events or recently announced time changes, confirm the conversion in the calendar used by participants.

Frequently asked questions

Does the converter account for daylight saving time?

It applies the rules associated with the selected time zone for the date you enter, using the time-zone data available in your browser.

Why do I need to enter a date?

The difference between two cities can change during the year when one of them changes its clocks. Without a date, the applicable rule cannot be selected reliably.

What does a repeated or missing time mean?

A clock change can make a local time happen twice or be skipped. The tool identifies these cases; confirm important events in a calendar.

Does the list show every time zone in Brazil?

No. It provides reference cities. The Brazilian National Observatory publishes the official list of locations covered by each Brazilian time zone.
