Resize an image

Choose an image, enter its new dimensions and keep the proportions if you do not want to distort it.

Choose an image to begin.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an image and check its preview.
  2. Enter the width or height. When proportions are kept, the other value adjusts automatically.
  3. Create the copy and check its dimensions before downloading.

Example

A 2,400 × 1,600 pixel photo resized to 1,200 pixels wide with proportions kept becomes 1,200 × 800 pixels.

Limits and notes

Increasing an image size does not restore lost detail. The input is limited to 20 MB and 25 megapixels; each output side is limited to 8,000 pixels and the total to 25 megapixels. The copy is PNG.

Processing and privacy

Processing happens in this browser. The file is not sent to the server for editing. The site still loads its code and fonts through your usual connection. Close or reload the page to clear the preview; process the file again if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing preserve image quality?

Reducing dimensions can lose detail. Enlarging an image cannot restore missing detail; the result is a new PNG copy.

Can I set both dimensions?

Turn off “Keep proportions” to enter width and height separately. This can distort the image.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Editing happens in your browser, although the site still loads its usual files.
